Flight Solutions has completed deployment of its Common Use Platform (CUTE/CUPPS) at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Requiring rapid implementation following a change of Ground Handling contract, the project was successfully delivered in close cooperation with GAAC Ground Handling within a tight 6-week timeframe.
Rising to the challenge of short lead times within the landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic, Flight Solutions’ Cloud-based eDesktop and eDCS solutions were successfully deployed through a simple and efficient remote migration process. The solution is now used by the Ground Handler for many airlines including Air Arabia, Emirates, Fly Dubai, Turkish Airlines, Ariana Afghan Airlines, and Pakistan Airlines. Further airlines including Air India and SpiceJet will be added once operations are resumed.
As the first Common Use site for Flight Solutions in the Middle East, deployment involved a first-time setup of five new DCS systems onto the eDesktop CUPPS Platform within this 6-week period. Flight Solutions’ agile approach to remote project delivery provided a streamlined migration path, with most airlines successfully integrated and tested in a matter of hours rather than days.
Flight Solutions’ common use platform, eDesktop, is a managed desktop that is fully IATA CUPPS Standards compliant and provides a platform for airport staff to operate various airline Departure Control Systems (DCS). Available as a Cloud based desktop or on-site desktop the solution is powerful and extremely flexible with support a wide range of equipment, and leveraging the latest technology to reduce cost to operate and improve reliability and support.
eDCS is Flight Solutions’ feature-rich Departure Control System (DCS), which can be deployed for any airline that does not deploy its own DCS system, or as a backup DCS in the event of outage of an airlines system. Available on desktop, self-service and mobile applications.
